FAQs
We are here to supplement your regular shopping. Unfortunately, we are not set up to be a full-time grocery source every week.
Please bring proof of residency within Ontario County (such as a piece of mail, ID, or lease) that shows your address for the current month.
Also, don’t forget to bring reusable shopping bags.
Yes! We offer a variety of options, including low sodium, no salt, gluten-free, and vegan foods.
We want to help as many people in Ontario County as we can. Unfortunately, with rising prices over the years, more people are seeking help, but our resources have not increased at the same rate.
To make sure we can assist everyone, we’ve had to extend the time between shopping appointments from 2 weeks to about 3-4 weeks.
Our goal is to support as many people as possible.
To do this, we share food according to guidelines from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for 5-day food packs. The size of the pack depends on how many people are in your family.
We also follow Foodlink’s guidelines for the amount of food we give in each category. You’ll find signs in our food cupboard with this information.
We have regular shifts for:
- Stocking shelves

- Booking appointments
Occasionally, we also need help with:
- Monthly collections
- Large holiday distribution events
Sometimes, yes. However, we ask that all volunteers be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
No, we understand that your personal time is valuable.
All we ask is that you let us know in advance if you can’t make your regular shift, so we can arrange for additional help if needed.
Not at all! We welcome part-time volunteers for most roles and are happy to work around your travel plans.
Please give us a call to discuss!
Thank you so much for thinking of us!
We would be happy to provide a list of the items we most need.
Here are a few important things to keep in mind:
- Let us know the organization or company hosting the drive and when you plan to drop off the donations, so we can make sure staff is available to help unload.
- We are always in need of the following items (though we’re grateful for any donations):
- Pasta sauce
- Pasta
- Cereal
- Pop-top soups
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Toothpaste
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Bar soap
- Paper towels
- Dish soap
- Toilet paper
- Baby wipes
